Historic First 120-Round Magazine Target!

Historic First 120-Round Magazine Target!
Back

This is from the same Ajax unit as before, the first time we tried out a 120-round magazine with a "bull's-eye" target.  Range was 10 meters (about 33 feet).  It is important to note that there were absolutely no sights on the gun at this time.   About 20 shots were taken in semi-auto to sight in the target and then at 1000+RPM full-auto.  Note that those "errant" shots you can see on the target were not wild, they were the sighting in shots.  This was the first time testing this configuration and it's solid accuracy was actually quite surprising.  There are some other bull's eye images in the gallery which demonstrate increased accuracy after some adjustments.

It was awesome to watch that bull's eye disintegrate as I emptied the magazine; I had to fire at the surrounding area just to get more target!  As a note, the original bull's-eye in this target was 3/8" diameter, and it was gone after about 20 rounds!  Some portions of the center that you still see on this target were actually "gone" and not visible during shooting as they had folded back into the cardboard wall of the phonebook filled backstop (after it disintegrated as well!).  As such,  the actual entire middle of this target was just completely shot out leaving a fairly round hole in both the target and the cardboard front of the backstop.
