About Us

Liberty:   the concept that one is free to act on one's own will without the imposition of external authority

Airgun:   a device which propels a projectile by air; also commonly, a device which propels a projectile by a fluid, usually a gas, such as nitrogen, air, or helium

Ajax X177 Automatic Airgun

It's no secret that all airgun enthusiasts yearn for a fully automatic airgun in their collection – and if they can't have that, at least a semi-auto! We are making both of these possible, with our select-fire, fully automatic airgun.

Our team includes the inventor of the Ajax Automatic Airgun technology, Sage Granger, a former NASA and JPL engineer who also has years of experience in propulsion systems, including air powered devices and other types of alternative propulsion systems.

We are very proud to introduce this unique, select-fire automatic airgun!  Be sure to stay tuned for our open roster and sign up for the early roster notification...

Sincerely,

Liberty Airguns LLC

History of the Ajax X177 Automatic Airgun

Sage was working on advanced, alternative projectile propulsion for a military proposal concerning a unique type of alternative small-arms weapon. As his system could be modified to work with compressed gas, thereby operating in a fashion similar to a traditional airgun, he decided to develop a low-energy, experimental, air-powered automatic prototype. But that wasn't enough.

Sage is strongly philosophical. One of his views is that “knowledge is the root of positive consequence;” as such, he believes in opening up ideas for experimentation. He wanted a design that could be built by an enthusiast or researcher interested in learning about such systems – but not everyone interested has a machine shop or reams of money. So, when he designed this unit, he went to great lengths to build it with simple, inexpensive materials – nothing in the entire design is “special” or needs a mill or lathe to construct; everything can be built with common hand tools. Sage has even built devices without a vice (although it is certainly not recommended!).

Now with multiple patents pending, his design proves to be both flexible and scalable and gives the builder a tremendous range of options regarding construction of the device.

Liberty Airguns is proud to have developed the Ajax X177, which is based on these excellent airgun designs and methods.

Is this for me?

If you are an airgun enthusiast, then most certainly yes!

We are also considering releasing construction plans for the Ajax X177 -- so be sure to vote in our poll if you are interested!  If you are looking for an exciting, intermediate level construction project, then these plans are for you.  So, if you would like to see construction plans for the Ajax X177, be sure to send us and e-mail expressing your interest (and please vote in our poll)!
